One of those moments....

that makes you want to cover your ears and NEVER hear it again.

The other day the girls had their radio on. I guess I need to sensor their channels and maybe leave it on Radio Disney. Kelly comes out and starts dancing (shaking her bootie) and sings "my lovely lady lumps" from black Eyed Peas. I know that is not the title of the song. That is what she sang. Those of you who have not heard that song before the girl in the song is talking about her boobs.

All I did was cover my ears and say "lalalalalalalalala I did not hear that, I did not hear that."

i think that the black eyed peas are HORRID. i honestly cannot believe how huge they've gotten. i've hated them since "let's get it started" which was originally "let's get retarded," making fun of the spastic movements of some mentally disabled. how is that acceptable? my kids listen to cd's that we make them from our own music, or to the fish. call me a conservative if you will, but my kids don't need to listen to porn.

I understand RM. My kids usually have the radio station on Radio Disney or The Fish but they must have tried to change it to one of those channels and stopped changing it because they could not find the channel. The kids don't even know what that song from Black Eyed Peas means.

oh, geeze, danielle, i hope you didn't take that as me lambasting you for letting your kids listen to that, i totally know what kind of parent you are. i was speaking in generalities... i know you'd not put your kids in harms way (which is what i consider that filth).

I know you weren't bashing me at all RM.

When I am driving and the kids are with me we usually listen to Billy Joel and the kids rock out in the car. It is really funny.

Because of the type of songs radio stations play I would rather listen to CD in the car at all times.

There are songs I listen to that I would never let me kids listen to then I think why am I listening to it?

RM we need to have another movie night.

...but did you write it down in her book of remembrance? you know, to share with her future husband?

(i'm saving all those precious moments for the reception!)

btw, I completely agree with your comments, we only listen to The Fish or children's cd's because once my three year old sang along to the radio, "ha! he said get in my pants, get in my pants!"

i am sooooo glad i'm not there yet! i LOVE the music i listen to and am totally not ready to be at the point where i have to start making decisions about what my children do and do not hear.

of course i listened to all the early 90s rap crap as a kid (i admit it, i listened to z100 . . . i am reformed now and only listen to kboo and 94.7) and i still turned out just fine . . . i think.

but really . . . i'm just honestly glad i don't have kids so i can selfishly listen to all the cuss words i want in my music.

i'm the same way. i'm glad i don't have to censor what i listen to or watch on tv because it would be a factor in forming my childs youth and brain. dogs and cats don't mind if you sing along about your lovely lady lumps. seriously, mine can't even be classified as lumps. i should be singing, my lovely lady mosquito bites.
